Returns and exchange policy

Kids Designer Closet offers a hassle free returns service and if for any reason you wish to return any items from your order, you have up to 14 days from delivery (subject to terms and conditions outlined below) to request a full refund or a credit note. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept any requests for returns after 14 days have surpassed. This does not affect your statutory rights. Return is subject to approval of Kids Designer Closet and you must obtain a return authorisation number before returning your goods. 

Terms and conditions for return

Please note the following when returning any items to us:

  • Items must not be damaged;
  • Items must not be washed;
  • Items must be unworn with all labels attached in its original packaging, odour free, folded neatly and in the same condition as which they were received. (a £5 pressing charge may be deducted from the return total if this procedure is not followed.)
  • Shoes must be returned in their original condition with no scratches or marks. The shoe box must be in its original, undamaged condition as it is considered part of the item. (Please ensure your child only stands on carpeted floor to avoid marking or scratching the soles when trying on the shoes)
  • Toys: A £18 surcharge will be applied for the return of toys. This surcharge will be deducted from the total refund amount for the returned toy. The acceptance of goods and defective goods terms and conditions outlined in the Returns and Exchange Policy still apply for the return of toys.”
  • Furniture: Items must be returned in the same condition it was provided to you in, this includes all the package and instructions. If items have been assembled or modified in any way, we will be unable to accept the return.

For hygiene reasons we cannot accept returns for the following goods:

  • Underwear and socks
  • Earrings
  • Headbands and hairclips
  • Swimwear 
  • Essentials

Sale Policy

Please note that no refunds will be provided for end of season sale items. we will be issuing credit notes for any returns related to these specific items. A credit note is a voucher that can be used as store credit towards future purchases from Kids Designer Closet. It allows you to choose alternative items or shop at your convenience when new collections become available. The credit note will be valid for a specified period, as indicated on the note itself. We kindly request you to carefully consider your purchases during the end of season sale, as the no-refund policy will be strictly enforced.

Faulty goods

We would first like to apologise for any items you receive that are faulty. We go to great lengths to ensure items are thoroughly examined before dispatch for any faults / damage. However, if you do identify any damage to the goods, please contact us within 14 days of delivery at orders@kidsdesignercloset.co.uk.  Any item returned as ‘faulty’ will be subject to an investigation to corroborate that the damage is due to a manufacturing defect and not normal wear-and-tear (which is not covered by our returns policy). The item is typically shipped to the manufacturer for them to assess and decide this (which can take up to 28 days). We will then issue a full refund.

Toys

Acceptance of goods: All goods must be inspected on delivery or collection, any identified shortages or damages must be reported to Kids Designer Closet within 2 days after delivery, where images of any damaged goods or packaging will be required.

Defective goods: To be reported in writing to orders@kidsdesignercloset.co.uk and images will be required. Kids Designer Closet shall opt to either replace the defective goods or parts thereof as appropriate (UK delivery only) or credit/refund the price for those goods. Any items returned must be unused and in their original packaging.

Reproduction: We have taken care to provide accurate images and descriptions. All sizes are approximate, illustrations, photographs, or descriptions whether in catalogues, brochures, price lists or other documents issued by Kids Designer Closet are intended as a guide only and shall not be binding.

Exceptional Return and Replacement Policy For Furniture and Mattresses

At Kids Designer Closet, we recognise that there may be unique circumstances that necessitate a return. While our standard policy requires customers to manage their own returns, in exceptional cases, we might consider offering a collection service. This is strictly subject to approval by Kids Designer Closet. If you believe your situation qualifies as an exception, please contact our team. We will review your case and decide if a collection will be offered.

1. Order Errors and Returns:
If you’ve mistakenly ordered the wrong furniture or mattress from Kids Designer Closet and your case qualifies as an exception, we may offer to handle the return. In such cases, a return collection charge of £35 will be applicable. Once the item is back in our warehouse and has undergone an inspection to ensure it’s in its original condition, we will initiate the refund process.

2. Furniture Assembly and Mattress Packaging:

Furniture: For the integrity of our products and the satisfaction of all our customers, please understand that we can only accept returns for furniture items that remain unassembled. If you’ve already assembled the furniture, unfortunately, we won’t be able to process a return or offer a refund.

Mattresses: Due to hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns for mattresses that have been opened from their original packaging. This ensures the safety and well-being of all our customers.

3. Replacement:
If your preference is to get a replacement item rather than a refund, you’ll need to place a new order for the desired product. Please note that replacement orders are treated as separate transactions. As such, they will follow our standard shipping and processing procedures.

Exchanges

To avoid disappointment, you must place a new order for the goods you want and request a refund for the original order. This is because we are unable to hold items in our warehouse and are unable to guarantee delivery of the item.

How to return the items to us
 
Simply e-mail us at orders@kidsdesignercloset.co.uk quoting your order number and explaining your reason for returning the goods. 
 
Please note if you require us to collect your item, then a collection surcharge of minimum £9.99 will be applied to the refund (price may vary for heavier parcels). We will then provide you with a returns label to attach to the outside of the parcel. Please ensure the label is not obstructed. Failure to do this could result in delays in processing your return. Please note you will need access to a printer for this service. Please ensure you keep a proof of postage with you. Collection service for returning your goods (including toys) is subject to approval and at the discretion of Kids Designer Closet.
 
Alternatively, you can arrange your own courier to return the item at your own expense.

Please ensure you use recorded / tracked delivery as you are responsible for the safe and timely return of the goods. Any additional charges (e.g. postage costs, insurance, customs etc.) are your responsibility.
 

What happens next?

Within 3-5 working days of receiving the returned items, we will e-mail you to confirm that we have received the item and will be refunding you the full amount (or issuing a credit note) subject to terms and conditions relating to returns noted above.  

Please allow an additional 3 – 5 working days for your bank to complete the refund (this varies depending on the bank).
